Today we went on a four hour tour about the Sound Of Music. We went to the Abbey, the vonTrapps mansion and got to explore the garden it was awesome! Our tour guide’s name was Barbara and she was really nice. We had lunch at about two and I had a cheeseburger.
After that we went home and I used my top and iPad until we left. When we left for the marionette theatre and on the way I sat on a statue of a bearded unicorn. The show we saw at the marionette theatre was The Sound Of Music. It was cool how they did the puppets put on the show and for the puppet scene they had to do puppets doing puppets. Then we went to Sternbrau and I had beef broth soup with cheese dumpling and spinach cheese dumpling for a meal.

The Sound of Music tour was great. It’s amazing to see how much went into the filming, with a different location for the front and back of the house, as well as the interior of the Abbey church where they had the wedding. We also saw the gazebo where they filmed “Sixteen going on Seventeen.” It was really neat to travel out into the lake and mountain region as well.
The marionette theater was very neat. It was amazing that 9 people could operate all those figures without tangling them up and could do all the dance sequences. The story followed the stage version more than the film version, but the voices were great. Late dinner then home to bed. All in all, another beautiful day in Salzburg.
